The Alpha Chapter of Delta Phi Epsilon was founded at New York University School of Law on March 17th, 1917 on the founding principles of Justice, Sisterhood, and Love.

Delta Phi Epsilon was formed "for the purpose of promoting good fellowship among Sorority (women)... to help... in acquiring knowledge, appreciation, discriminating judgment and true feeling of sisterly love, through the interaction, one upon he other, of sympathetic and friendly natures. Its objective is in the influence of its members on each other to achieve the liberal spirit, the habit of kindly judgement, to be unimpressed by the external displays of life, to care for our sisters because of what they are, not because of what they may achieve." (from the Founders' notes, 1918).

Our Vision - "Setting the standard for sisterhood in an ever changing world."
